While we honor the sacrifices made by our soldiers, we are also reminded of the greatest sacrifice ever made – the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Good Friday is a day specifically set aside to remember and reflect on the crucifixion of Jesus, an event that changed the course of history and opened the door to salvation for all mankind.
Jesus himself said in John 15:13, "Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends." Jesus laid down His life not only for His friends but for all humanity. His death on the cross was the ultimate act of love and sacrifice, providing us with the means to be reconciled with God.
